The advent of Googler Earth means we can see our world in an entirely new way - and there are some truly weird things out there.
Nazi business. This peculiar building is the Coronado Naval Amphibious Base in San Diego. We don't think it was designed by Albert Speer. The US Navy says it is going to alter the building soon. See the Google map here.
Google copped plenty of flak when one of its cars hit a small deer on a back country road in the US.
Oprah Winfrey - the world's most powerful talkshow host - has it all so why not a cornfield maze? This one was created by a farmer in Arizona. See the Google map here
This spectacular sight is the SS Jassim, a Bolivian cargo ferry, which ran aground and sunk on the Wingate Reef off the coast of Sudan in 2003. See the Google map here

It looks like a face, but this amazing formation in Canada is entirely natural. Dubbed the Badlands Guardian, the "face" is actually a valley eroded into the clay. See the Google map here
This blood-red lake in Baghdad sure looks sinister, with much fevered online speculation it really is blood, although it is more likely the result of pollution. See the Google map here
These markings are a real mystery. Seen on air bases in the US and Britain, they could be landing pads for UFOs, though the authorities are adamant they are actually motorcycle training tracks. See the Google maps here
Thousands of old miliary aircraft call the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in the Arizona desert home. The planes can sit for years until used for scrap.

Of the millions of images Google snapped, it was inevitable at least one person would be snapped in an embarassing pose. The image of this guy, sleeping off a hard night in Victoria, has since been removed.
